Drumbo Opportunity Centre

The Drumbo Fair web site has been developed and hosted by the Drumbo Opportunity Centre as a service to the community.

The Drumbo Opportunity Center (DOC) exists to support the integrated use of information services and facilities for the town of Drumbo and surrounding rural area emphasizing

  • the strategic use of information technologies to assist local residents in key areas such as job search, effective access to government resources and programs and supporting the educational requirements of its citizens through a community centre incorporating open-access computer services
  • the provision of general support services to community institutions such as the Drumbo and District Heritage Society and other general community activities.
  • to establish and operate a community centre to be used for workshops, programs, athletics, drama, art, music, handicrafts, hobbies and recreation for the benefit of the general public.
The current facility provides:
  • Library resources (including access to Oxford County Library services)
  • Computer lab including internet access (CAPP site)
  • Recreational programs and activities for various age groups (athletics, drama, art, music, crafts and hobbies)
  • Training workshops on a variety of topics including computer skills
  • Assistance to individuals needing access to government resources and programs, educational supports, job search and basic computer orientation
  • Support services for various community initiatives such as the Drumbo and District Heritage Society.

DOC is a charitable undertaking to replace the recently closed public library in Drumbo.  DOC's charitable number is 814738878RR0001.
