President’s Message

What does late September mean to you? We often think of leaves turning colour, bright orange pumpkins, early morning dew, but best of all, it’s time to go to the Drumbo Fall Fair! Welcome to our 165th year!

Our Fair Board directors have been busy preparing a fun-filled weekend with entertainment and activities for all. There are farm animals aplenty, the Beef Show returns as well as the popular Youth and Open Horse Show and the Heavy Horse Show. New this year is our first Miniature Horse Show. Old McDonald’s Farm, always a perennial favorite, is also awaiting your visit.

I invite you to see the School Fair exhibits along with the Plants and Flowers, Vegetables and Field Crops all located in the large tent. With so much dependent on Mother Nature, we are often just as surprised as you are at the number of amazing exhibits! There are ‘red-ribbon’ pies, colourful preserves, beautiful quilts, unusual antiques and everyone’s favorite - photographs. We look forward to displaying them all!

This is the place for ongoing, lively entertainment. Sit back and enjoy live country music, the Baby Show, our unique Children’s Village, dog agility shows, the list goes on … I know you will be pleased. Taste ‘Local Fare for the Fair’ and walk down memory lane through the many Antique & Classic Cars and Tractors.

Fairs don’t just happen … I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of our directors, members, volunteers, and friends in bringing you an excellent family-friendly fair. Special thanks to our many exhibitors and competitors, without you this annual event would not happen. A sincere thank you as well to our ‘Friends of the Fair’ sponsors for your continuing support and encouragement in maintaining such a wonderful country tradition.

This year we have introduced a fair slogan: “Drumbo Fair - Simply Country! - simply fun!” … the perfect sentiment to describe our country fair. We know you will think so too!

See you at the fair.
