BRING EXHIBITS: On Wednesday, September 20, 2023 between 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm bring exhibits to the Big Tent at the fairgrounds. Yellow entry tags to be attached before bringing items to the fairgrounds. Download  ENTRY TAGS here.

REMOVE EXHIBITS: Sunday, September 24, 2023 between 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Pick up prize money.

RULES

  1. All works must be your own composition and completed within the past year.
  2. Please attach entry tag to upper right hand corner.

 Baking - Section B

All baking must be on a disposable plate and in a plastic Ziploc bag. Baking to be homemade by the exhibitor unless otherwise specified.

  1. Pictures must have been taken by EXHIBITOR in the past year.
  2. No enlargements.
  3. All photos must be mounted on stiff paper or thin cardboard.

  2. A School Project of which you are proud. Project may be from 2022 school year.
  3. Create a planet mask and write the planet’s name on the inside of the mask.
  4. Using this year’s theme “Lost in Space”, construct a family tree/pedigree chart of at least four generations of your family. Include as much information as possible.
  5. Illustrate and name the phases of the moon.
  6. Make a list of 5 planets and illustrate.

GRADE 5 to 8:

 Vegetables and Fruit - Section: V/F


How To Prepare Vegetables and Fruit for judging. (This is what the judge looks for)

  1. Chose medium sized carrots, potatoes and beets.
  2. Choose regular shaped specimens. Leave stems attached.
  3. Choose specimens as nearly the same shape and size as possible.
  4. Potatoes: wipe mud and dirt off and polish with dry cloth. Do not wash.
  5. Choose large onions. Do not peel, only remove dirty, outer skins, topped to 2.5-5 cm (1-2")
  6. Choose large squash.
  7. Pumpkins and Squash must have stems on.

 YOUTH POSTER - Section YP

Theme: Promoting "Drumbo Fall Fair"

  1. Poster Size: Minimum of 8.5" x 11" (22 cm x 28 cm) to maximum of 11" x 17" (28 cm x 44 cm) without border.
  2. Include the name and dates of the fair prominently on your poster.
  3. Poster must be completely hand drawn and be your own design. NO computer generated images, embellishments, i.e. stickers, foam pieces.
  4. Each entry must be mounted on card stock or Bristol board with a 5.5 cm border.
  5. Clearly label on the back of poster: artist's name, age, grade, school and Class 1,2 or 3.
  6. Winning entries will represent our fair at the Youth Poster Competition held at the fall Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) District Meeting. District winners will compete for monetary prizes at the OAAS Convention.
  7. Judging Standards: Overall appearance, 50 points; Creativity and Design, 35 points; Criteria (following the above guidelines), 15 points.

 School Art Displays

Each school will receive $35.00.

Each school will be provided with three 4' x 8' styrofoam boards set up as a triangle.

The name of your school must be clearly shown.

Place in tent on either Thursday or Friday.
