VICTORIAN FASHION SHOW
& TEA
Sunday, April 26, 2009
What do bustle dresses and fancy jam, intricate corsets and scones have in common? Simple! They all formed the foundation of a Victorian Fashion Show and Tea hosted by the D.A.S.
The Afternoon Tea drew over 100 ladies, who while socializing, marvelled at the artistry of fashions developed and presented by Katherine Burt of Kitchener, Ontario. Accompanying Katherine were her daughters, Victoria and Lexi as well as cousins and family friends, all exceptionally apt models.
Katherine's knowledge of the evolution of fashion stems from a love of U.S. Civil War re-enacting which demands skill in historic sewing. Article about Katherine Burt
To say the Tea was a success is an understatement appreciated most by those in attendance...A thoroughly educational and enjoyable fund raiser.
