President’s MessageWhat is the significance of the 3rd weekend after Labour Day? It’s Drumbo Fair weekend, of course. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I invite you to come and enjoy this beautiful fall weekend at a country fair. The success of our fair depends on the planning by the Board of Directors, the many volunteers who carry out those plans, the sponsors who make the commitment to provide financial support, the exhibitors who enter the competitions and the visitors who attend the fair. Thank you! This year children of all ages will enjoy Craig Douglas’ comedy and juggling show, The Puppet Tamer as well as dog agility and sheep herding shows. The Children’s Village remains the place for the younger kids to ride ponies, play on the bales of straw and inflatables. All can take time for a horse drawn wagon ride, a trip on the Heritage Society train, visit the animals in the ever popular Old McDonald’s Farm or listen to the music on the stage. It is very exciting to announce that the Exhibit Hall will be completely renovated in time to showcase the crafts, hobbies, quilts, photography as well as baking and canning at this year’s fair. This year’s theme is “Drumbo Fair – Udderly Amazing!”. I trust that you will think so as well. So, circle the date on the calendar, call your friends and family and make plans to be entertained at the 2013 Drumbo Fair. Or, in 2013 terms, enter the date into your electronic device, text your friends and check out the fair now by scanning the QR code with your Smart Phone. No matter how you make your plans, just be sure to come to the Drumbo Fair! I look forward to seeing you there. Margaret VerkuilPresident
