Rachel, a skilled shearer for over 10 years uses specialized clippers to carefully shear the wool in a single, continuous piece, ensuring minimal stress to the sheep.  Sheep shearing is the process of removing a sheep’s wool fleece, typically done once a year to maintain the animal’s health and comfort.  This practice prevents overheating, reduces the risk of disease, and provides wool for textiles.

Rachel Duncan will provide Sheep Shearing demonstrations on Sunday, September 22 at the Drumbo Fair. Demos will be held at the Pavilion near Old McDonald's farm.

Come to the Drumbo Fair to watch and learn. Check schedule for times.
